The center received a peddlers license to sell snacks and skate merchandise as a way to help pay for staffing and upkeep of the mobile unit.
Ultimately, McGregor said it will be good to have an adult presence at the park."The goal is not to come out and regulate, that's the job of the city and the police. What we can do is be a presence and help contribute to a safe environment," McGregor said. "It can be a really positive, healthy scene if given the right guidance."
PRCS Director Jeff Hood said the teen center, which is a Christian-based organization, is not going to deliver any religion-based materials or messages.The One-Eighty mobile unit is currently at the park on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. McGregor said he has a goal to increase staffing on the mobile unit to take it out to the park on Saturdays.
